It’s with great sadness that we report San Francisco’s Two Cats Comic Book Store will be shuttering on March 26.

The West Portal neighborhood comic store made the announcement in a February 28 newsletter:

It is with heavy hearts we are forced to announce the impending closure of Two Cats Comic Book Store.

We will get our last shipment of new comics on March 20th.  Our final day of operations will be March 26th.   Please stop by to express your regrets and help us out by picking up some of our remaining inventory.

We’ve greatly valued being part of the San Francisco comics community.  We say all the time that our customers are the best, the brightest, and most attractive of all of the customers anywhere ever.  We will miss you deeply.  Most of you, anyway.

The City has one of the best comics markets around, so we hope you will continue to find your bliss at one of the several other fine establishments.

Selling you folks comics, has been our honor and pleasure.

 cheers,
The Irascible Crew

The seven-year-old comic shop fit in perfectly with the walkable West Portal community. Hoodline profiled Two Cats owner Christian Nicholson in 2016.

The Bay Area has a significant number of comic book stores within a 25-mile radius of Uptown Oakland. Still, the last three years haven’t been kind. Last year we lost Pleasanton’s Heroes and Villains and in 2017 we lost the Eisner Award winning Tr!ckster.

If you’re a broken-hearted comic book fan needing a new home for your pull list consider reviewing our Bay Area Comic Store guide. San Francisco is home to six additional comic book shops who would likely appreciate your business.
