Chimichangas! Alamo Drafthouse Reveals Deadpool 2 Menu

Alamo Drafthouses across the country will celebrate Deadpool 2 arriving in theaters with a menu featuring Chimichangas and “TaKillYa” cocktails.

The ‘changa is often touted as the Merc with the Mouth’s favorite food, but according to official Marvel canon he actually only likes saying the word (full disclosure: I only discovered this five minutes before writing this post. I, too, thought chimichangas were Deadpool’s favorite food and maybe they are in the Deadpool Cinematic Universe). That said, chimichangas are freakin’ delicious, fun to say, and a welcome addition to the Drafthouse menu.

According to Alamo Drafthouse chef Brad Sorenson:

Our take on the Merc with a Mouth’s all-time favorite food blends black beans with jalapeño and poblano peppers, our housemade salsa and cheese, all wrapped up in a flour tortilla and deep-fried to crispy, melty golden perfection. Served three to a plate with sour cream and salsa for dipping.

More importantly, select Drafthouses will be adding four tequila cocktails to the menu (because Deadpool’s favorite spirit is TaKILLya).

We don’t get know what other ingredients will be in these cocktails, but we do know the names.

Alamo Drafthouse Beverage Director Bill Norris:

The four drinks—Vigilante Justice, Fire in the Hole,Below the Belt, and Pegged— are all spicy, fiery, boozy and just a touch fruity. All feature delicious Espolòn Tequila.

The Deadpool 2 menu promotion starts on May 1. As usual with Drafthouse special menus the food and drinks will be served while supplies last and might not be available at all locations. Some locations will have a limited edition die-cut menu featuring Deadpool and Cable. Deadpool 2 tickets are onsale now.

Before Oakland, there was Madison, Wisconsin. In Madison, the hours that weren’t filled up by my day job were typically devoured by event planning and running the city’s popular arts and politics news site, Dane101. Some of the events I organized include an annual two-night cabaret/carnival/masquerade party called the Fire Ball Masquerade, Madison's biggest non-city sponsored Halloween party, the geek culture focused MadPubQuiz of Awesomeness, and the first Whedonesque Burlesque in the country. Having successfully reshaped the reality of Madison, Wisconsin I packed up and moved to the Bay Area in February of 2013. In addition to comics, I enjoy imbibing cocktails and beer, exploring foreign cities, consuming food of various temperatures, hearing music performed live, losing at board and card games, and getting caught in the rain.
